1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using PolicyEase 保單易 (the "App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

PolicyEase 保單易 is a Progressive Web Application (PWA) that:

• Calculates Internal Rate of Return (IRR) for insurance policies
• Provides market commentary based on Hong Kong benchmarks
• Allows comparison of multiple policies (paid feature)
• Exports analysis results to PDF (paid feature)

The App does NOT:

• Sell insurance products
• Provide personalized financial advice
• Guarantee accuracy of IRR calculations or market data
• Replace professional financial planning services

3. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

• Provide accurate policy data for IRR calculations
• Verify all calculations independently before making decisions
• Not use the App for illegal or unauthorized purposes
• Not attempt to reverse-engineer, hack, or exploit the App
• Comply with all applicable Hong Kong laws and regulations

4. Pricing and Payments

4.1 Pricing Tiers

• Free: Guaranteed IRR calculation for 1 policy (HK$0)
• Non-Guaranteed IRR: Market commentary (HK$50, one-time)
• Compare Up To 3: Up to 3 policies (HK$100, one-time)
• Unlimited Bundle: All features forever (HK$150, one-time)

4.2 Payment Terms

• All payments are processed via Stripe in HKD.
• Payments are non-refundable except as required by law.
• Feature unlocks are permanent and persist across devices (linked to email).
• Prices may change with 30 days notice. Existing purchases are unaffected.

4.3 Refund Policy

Digital goods are typically non-refundable. However, we may issue refunds at our discretion if:

• The App malfunctions and prevents feature use
• You were charged in error
• You request a refund within 7 days with valid reason

5. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE:

• Accuracy: IRR calculations are estimates. Results may differ from actual policy returns.
• Completeness: Market benchmarks are sourced from third parties and may be outdated.
• Availability: The App may experience downtime, bugs, or service interruptions.
• Suitability: Results may not reflect your specific financial situation.

6. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

• We are NOT liable for financial losses arising from App use.
• We are NOT liable for decisions made based on IRR calculations or market commentary.
• Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid (if any).
• We are NOT responsible for third-party services (Stripe, Vercel, data providers).

7. Intellectual Property

• PolicyEase 保單易 name, logo, and design are our intellectual property.
• The App source code is open-source (MIT License) on GitHub.
• You may NOT resell, redistribute, or rebrand the App commercially without permission.
• Policy data you enter remains your property.

8. Hong Kong Regulatory Compliance

PolicyEase 保單易 is an educational tool and does NOT:

• Require licensing from the Insurance Authority (IA)
• Constitute "regulated advice" under the Securities and Futures Ordinance (SFO)
• Sell or distribute insurance products

For licensed financial advice, consult a registered insurance intermediary or independent financial advisor.

9. Data Protection (PDPO)

We comply with Hong Kong's Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance. See our Privacy Policy for details on data collection and use.

10. Prohibited Uses

You may NOT use the App to:

• Provide unauthorized financial advice to third parties
• Misrepresent the App's capabilities or endorsements
• Scrape, copy, or automate data extraction
• Bypass payment mechanisms or share unlocked features
• Upload malicious code or attempt denial-of-service attacks

11. Termination

We reserve the right to:

• Suspend or terminate your access for Terms violations
• Discontinue the App at any time with 30 days notice
• Revoke feature unlocks obtained through fraud or abuse

You may stop using the App at any time. Paid features remain accessible unless revoked for cause.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted with an updated "Last Updated" date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

13. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. Disputes shall be resolved through:

1. Good faith negotiation
2. Mediation (if agreed by both parties)
3. Hong Kong courts (exclusive jurisdiction)

14. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found invalid, the remaining provisions remain in full force.
